10 - 45 Mins by Car from Noosa

Hit the Road......well let's get in the car first. OK time to venture a little further out (man) from Noosa.

Eumundi Markets
If it's a Wed or a Sat head to the Eumundi Markets from about 6.00am to 12pm. About a 20 Min Drive out the Noosa - Eumundi Rd.
It is one of the biggest markets around, if haven't been you've got to do it once. Give yourselves a good couple of hours to get around it all. While in Eumundi check out Berkelouw Book Store and Cafe on the main street. Joe's Waterhole is a great pub and band venue that has some great bands passing through, main street Eumundi check out their website.......Joe's Waterhole

Montville - Mapleton and Maleny
The 'Hinterland' Drive is a must, a great escape from the coast and another facet to the Sunshine Coast. Allow a good few hours to a half day, you could spend more but it is up to you. It is about a 45 Min drive to reach Montville, Maleny a smidgeon further.

From Noosa head towards Nambour, and onwards to the small town of Mapleton, it is a great drive as you wind up onto the ridge with great views both sides. If you are feeling like a great walk the Kondalilla Falls near Montville are wonderful, about a 1-1.5hr return walk to the falls, which are very high, but you arrive at the top of the falls not the base, but there is a lovely swimming hole to reward you but it can be coolish, but clean, clean fresh water ! Element's Cafe nearby is excellent too.

Stop in Montville for a quaint village feel, many tourist style shops and good food options. The Poets Cafe being a favourite at the bottom of the hill. At the top of the hill as you arrive in Montville pull over and park on your left and through the little shopping complex you will find one of the best views of the Sunshine Coast ! Check out also Flame Hill Winery and Baroon Dam nearby, with a very steep road !
Continue on towards Maleny for a more earthy feel, with some cool cafes, but this is more of a real town than Montville which is really aimed at the tourist.
Your return drive from this area you should go another way back...through Palmwoods as a good option.

Mooloolaba
Only about 30 mins Drive from Noosa south, Mooloolaba has a few cool things to see....The Kids will love Underwater World Queensland's largest Oceanarium (good word eh...). The Esplanade is great for a stroll, coffee and over the road the beautiful beach, which is fairly protected like Noosa's Main Beach and visit the "Loo with the View" ! Mooloolaba Wharf have a wander with a good selection of Resturant's, great fresh fish, and of course Fish and Chips !

Yandina and the Ginger Factory
Well I would combine two things here......If you love Thai Food, you must go to the Thai Spirit House, near Yandina. Book ahead, it get's busy, this is a hidden gem but very popular with people in the know. A 20 Min drive from Noosa, and you can take the kids to the Famous Ginger Factory for all things Ginger and more, good family fun, but then time it with your Spirit House Booking (only 3 mins away). Opposite the Ginger Factory is Nutworks also, which is worth a visit.
